Design is everything. Everything!

Paul Rand

Groove Design was born after a 12 year long pregnancy.

When we first met, we were two young enthusiastic designers with a great passion for the profession. This is probably what drew us to each other.

They say opposites attract and in our case this is so true. We clicked right from the start and we make a great team.

We’ve led comprehensive processes of planning and designing products from the early stages of the initial idea, all the way through to production.

The differences between us are the secret to our success. We each fight for our own “baby”. Alon insists on assimilating the latest technology and working with new materials and Sharon will not compromise on the looks of the product and matching it to the customer’s needs.

The result? An innovative, precise, beautiful and original product.

As you must have gathered by now, we’re no suckers; we each have years of experience and hard work in the industry.

We can manage restrictions, we know production alignment and packaging and we are not afraid of machines.

We have developed, with time, our own original observation abilities, our personal touch which embodies our inspirations, our loves and viewpoints.

In a nutshell, we bring you the Groove.

So why work with us?

Here are 10 reasons, for starters:
  • We are really, really nice people.
  • We enjoy breaking boxes and smashing conventions. With us, you can feel free to deliver your wildest design fantasy and we promise to make it as real as possible.
  • We’re always up to date: we follow design trends, advanced technologies and the latest materials, and you enjoy the results.
  • We will not give up until you are pleased. We do love our products, but we love happy clients even better!
  • Because 12 years in the industry is no mean feat…
  • We are experts in working with plastic.
  • We are always on schedule.
  • We are the coolest studio in Israel.
  • Alon makes the best coffee ever.
  • We bring the Groove!

So let’s talk to the point.

What can we do?

After our initial meeting, we will draw the first concept of the design through observing, studying and investigating the living environment.

At the end of this investigation we will draw up a precise and concise Product brief.

We’re not only good at talking and fantasizing, we will conduct physical tests of the product throughout the process, to ensure it doesn’t only look good but also works great and answers all your needs.

We shall also create an engineered prototype, a design model and 3D printout.

We won’t leave your marketing director empty handed. We shall provide them with a realistic imaging to show at directorate meetings and for general advertising.

After the prototype is authorized we will ensure to adjust the design to the required and available production techniques and also design the tooling and production tools as well as supervising their manufacturing process, including a visit of the mold maker.

We will closely monitor the trial injections, the first editions and of course production itself, and provide you with great packaging that will give your product the required protection according to your distribution methods.

And if the product requires assembly, we will also provide clear and simple instructions, written with a lot of thought and attention.

We are always happy to share our extensive experience on the production floor with our clients and offer suggestions for improving manufacturing processes, packaging and logistics.

We believe that design touches and affects every stage of the project and that’s why we feel obligated to accompany you throughout the process.

Sharon Shmila

Lives in Ramat Gan, Married to Erella, father to three amazing girls, strict on running, but not too  much. I combine my love for materials and colors with cooking a wide range of flavors.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in product design from Vital College and experienced in interior design as well.

I provide sensitivity to color and form.

Uncompromising about looks and style, I don’t take any shortcuts; I’m very thorough and have a wide view on the world of design.

I can work quickly and efficiently, manage several projects at the same time and am highly organized.

I love this profession and feel truly lucky to work in the field. My greatest pleasure is to provide people with products which give a solution to all their needs yet are exciting and full of inspiration.

What would I do if I weren’t an industrial designer? A set designer or a conceptual artist.

Alon Leibovitz

I live in the Galilee, married to Naama and father to three charming girls.

Like any other self respecting Galilean I keep my own vegetable garden and make wooden furniture in my spare time.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Product design from Shenkar College.

I provide an engineer’s vision and experience with a wide range of materials: plastic, wood, glass, precious metals, fabrics and more.

A freak of new technologies, I know how to get the job done and improvise with unorthodox solutions. Not the tidiest person in the world, but this is also an advantage (you’ll be surprised to hear).

My greatest joy is to challenge the engineers.

I’m in love with my profession and choose it anew every day out of true passion for materials and technologies.

This love gives birth to some wondrous babies – innovative and unusual products.

What would I do if I weren’t an industrial designer? A carpenter or a jeweler
